Chess in Brazil

The Calgary Chess Club supported a school in Brazil by supplying them with some chess equipment. Here is a Picassa photo album showing the school and some of the kids playing chess.

I'm sorry I can't write more but I don't know the exact details. Hopefully someone will post more soon.

It`s just one world! I started with my own chessboard, only one, and now I have 27. I bought 14 along the year, but they are very small as you can see in the picture and I couldn`t afford a better equipment. It`s incredible, how they started to play much better after Calgary Chess Club sent those big chessboards. And what about the chessclock? They never saw one, and they fight for it. I really can`t find words to thank you guys. Tell Veronicka that Iasmine is looking forward to play with her. Any more information you need, you can contact me. A happy new year for every one in Calgary Chess Club!
